Open-Water Swimming & swim training

This sport was adopted as an Olympic sport for the first time in the Beijing Games in 2008 and is separate from triathlon swimming, in which wet suits are generally used, and is held over longer distances. Dorney Lake's clear water (see Environment page) is ideal for the hardy people who swim both as part of triathlons and for occasional swimming events per se. There are likely to be some major open-water events here in the next several years.

PLEASE NOTE: casual swimming is not permitted.
